The HE teaching and excellence lead will coordinate the delivery of NCG HE Teaching Learning and Assessment Strategy. You will be responsible for monitoring, developing and improving teaching, learning and assessment across the Higher Education section of NCG, as well as supporting the development of practice and standards across our partnership providers.

You will support the key strategic measures set out in the NCG’s HE Strategy, in addition to the TLA strategy and quality standards. The role-holder will work in partnership with faculty teams at various campuses including our partnership providers to ensure they plan and foster inspirational and inclusive teaching, learning, teaching and assessment practices to support positive outcomes for all students.

You will have a proven record of excellent teaching, learning and assessment practice from a Higher Education background and be an inspiring leader. You will ensure excellent teaching, learning and assessment, which stretches challenges and enables students to achieve their personal, educational and employment goals.

A key priority of the role will be to address educational inequalities and promote inclusive pedagogy, aligning this work to the values and the targets set out in our Access and Participation Plan. Evaluating and enhancing the quality of teaching, learning and assessment will be a central focus of this work. As such a commitment to data led enhancement will be important and this will feed into TEF enhancement projects.

Fostering effective relationships with all staff involved in teaching and supporting learning will be essential. The post holder will work with professional and academic teams across NCG as well as our partnership provision, ensuring that students’ academic experience and wider student support is well integrated and joined up. You will have a strong pedagogic scholarship/research profile which may include curriculum design and pedagogy and or Inclusive teaching and learning.

Innovation is a key element in working with vocational managers and teams across the multiple campuses as well as our partnership provision to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, progress and outcomes for our students. The Head of TLA is expected to be proactive in promoting the College values with all stakeholders. As a manager within NCG all managers are required to promote, uphold and demonstrate through personal example, the NCG values and behaviours.
